The Garlthorpe Charity of Barmby on the Marsh have donated £1,000 to Goole’s Mission Trinity Foodbank.
The Mission Trinity Foodbank, established in Goole during 2010, is run by volunteers and has been helping struggling families in our communities with food parcels. During recent months new donation collection points have been established. Three new collection points have popped up in our local area, at St Helens Church Barmby On The Marsh, Eel Hall Farm in Asselby, and The Shire Hall in Howden. These activities have come to the attention of the board of trustees of The Garlthorpe Charity based in Barmby On The Marsh. Mr Sherriff said: “The charity have been seeking worthy causes within our community, and we are very pleased to be able to award a £1000 donation towards the foodbank’s efforts”. The foodbank which is based in St Johns Street in Goole is run by volunteers Ken Pepper, Dave Sample, Dave Gale, Tracey James and Ben Hardiman, Spokesman Ken Pepper thanked The Charity for its generosity, and also expressed thanks for the contributions being deposited weekly in the new rural collection points.
